Proposition G: Mixed-use development project for Candlestick Point & Hunters Point Shipyard (Lennar Corporation Proposal)

WHAT: Repeals Propositions D and F, establishes policies to guide revitalization planning efforts, authorizes the lease or conveyance of City-owned park land at Candlestick Point. This ordinance will establish a public/private partnership which would create about 8,500 to 10,000 residential housing units (both affordable and market-rate) and encourage the rebuilding of Alice Griffith Public Housing. It would also create 350 acres of parks and possibly build a new a new 49ers stadium at Hunters Point Shipyard.

Proponents: Senator Feinstein, Supervisor Sophie Maxwell, Mayor Newsom.

Opponents: Supervisor Chris Daly, San Francisco Bay Guardian, San Francisco Board of Education, community activists
